FAQ
What is this tool?
This tool shows attendance for the entire guild, for each raid day, and computes the overall percent. We use this in making loot, promotion, and raid spot decisions. Our raiding times are relatively short, and so attendance is very imporant for the guild.
What is the guild‘s attendance policy?
While we don't require any specific attendance %, and believe that RL trumps the game, we encourage everyone to come to as many raids as they can, ideally all of them. If you cannot make a raid day, we request that you inform us by posting in Discord in #attendance channel.
How does the scoring work?
Each raid day is scored out of maximum of 4 points. If you come on time, and stay for the entire raid, you will get 4 points. If you come late, or leave early, but are otherwise present for the majority of the raid, you get 3 points. If you miss more than a few fights, you get 2 points, and if you are present in less than half the fights, you get 1. Missing the day completely earns 0.
What fights count?
All boss fights (whether kills or wipes) count, and they count equally. For example, if we've done 50 pulls in a given day, and you were present for 45 of them, you'll get 3/4.
How does the overall score get computed?
The overall score is just the average of your raid day scores, weighted higher towards the recent weeks. If you get a 4 for half of your days, and 2 for the other half within the same weeks, your overall score will be 75%. We start counting from your first raid day with us; any days before you joined will, of course, not be counted against you (they are shown as black spots on the table above).
What happens if I'm asked to sit for a fight?
Any fights you spend benched or on standby count as though you were present. This is true whether we asked you to sit for performance, class comp, or any other reason. We ask that you remain available, such that we can get you back within a short time, but you don't need to be logged on your main or do anything specific; just be reachable (via Discord, game, or other means).
What if I come on an alt?
If we ask or allow you to come on an alt, we will count that as being present. For this to work, we need to link your alt to your main. If you didn't get credit for a raid because of this, let Charodey know and he'll fix it.
What about posting in #attendance?
If you can't make the raid, we do ask that you let us know, as soon as possible. This will affect your Post overall score.
What are the different overall scores?
The number you see at the left next to your name is your overall score. You can choose to see your Real attendance, Posted attendance, Combined attendance, or all three. You Real attendance is only affected by showing up to raids. Posted attendance also grants you full credit if you post. Combined grants you half credit. For example, if you were to attend the raid, all three scores will be 4/4. If you don't attend but post, your Real score is 0/4, Post score is 4/4, and Combined score is 2/4.
Which of these is more important?
They are all important, in different ways. Real score lets us know how often we can depend on you actually being in the raid. Posted score lets us know how likely you are to inform us if you miss a raid, so we can prepare (for example, change strat for a boss, or get another player for that day). TLDR is that it's better to show up than to post, and better to post than to ghost.
What happens if I'm incorrectly marked absent for a raid?
Just tell Charodey and he'll fix it. This is most likely because you were on standby, and this didn't get properly recorded.
